Minimising any environmental impact from our operations is a major part of our business. We are committed to establishing environmental management as a priority within our business, helping to deliver environmentally solutions to the sectors we serve. Fencing Events is aware of the impact of our daily operations on the environment. Our objective is to balance the need to achieve the services we provide to our clients whilst being careful of our environmental output, Along with our customers and colleagues throughout the industry's we serve.

We invest heavily in our fleet and equipment to ensure they are clean and efficient, making sure our delivery units comply with euro 6 emission standards. We will continue to investigate and invest in new technologies to further improve the environmental standards within our business.

By improving fleet utilisation and route planning for the most fuel efficient routes helping us reduce empty vehicle miles helping to minimalise the overall impact on the environment.

We work with many organisations and our clients to identify and implement initatives ensuring we are always improving our environmental performance.

Our impacts

Our business activities compose of a wide range of processes from fencing manufacturing, maintenance and the delivery of services.

In terms of manufacturing we always aim to effectively manage the usage of materials, energy consumption and waste management across all our operations through a company wide initiative to become more sustainable.

Fencing Events maintains and operates a efficient fleet of vehicles composing of Tractor Units, Trailers, Vans, 4x4's and forklifts. We invest heavily in our fleet and equipment to ensure they are clean and efficient, making sure our delivery units comply with euro 6 emission standards. We will continue to investigate and invest in new technologies to further improve the environmental standards within our business.

Our potential to make a difference

Our policy is to develop, monitor, maintain & implement policies, systems & procedures which assess and minimise the environmental impact of our services. Balancing both environmental and economic factors, to help ensure that our operations are continuing to meet with our business objectives and working towards lowering carbon emissions and the overall impact to the environment. We will achieve this through close collaboration with our staff, suppliers, clients and advisors, and by adopting a methodical approach made up of realistic goals we aim and will achieve.

Taking action

Fencing Events will address our environmental impacts in the following ways.

General

Liaise with suppliers & customers to improve environmental awareness and management at all levels of the supply chain. 

Comply with all the relevant environmental legislation, regulations and codes of practice, maintaining a high level of environmental compliance and practice.

Place sustainability initiatives on the agenda for management meetings and employee forums, to promote environmental awareness and gather ideas for improvement in all areas of our business.

Collaborate with event organisers and production crews to help them achieve their green objectives and bring improvements on how we can do even better in the future.

Gather more accurate data on our carbon footprint and embark on the offsetting of the unavoidable elements of our carbon footprint

Place all relevant sustainability initiatives on the agenda for management meetings, employee forums and discussions as part of our company wide initiative to promote environmental awareness and help gather ideas for improvement within those areas.

Provide continuous education to our team, suppliers and customers to help prevent pollution, preserve natural resources and improve environmental management procedures.

Explore new materials and metals with smaller environmental footprints helping to reduce hazardous waste during manufacturing.

Make the switch from standard blocks/feet to 100% recycled blocks/feet this was carried out in 2019

We have also made the switch from standard work wear and office wear to 100% recycled clothing for all staff members.

We also operate a in house recycling programme in both our offices and workshops, where cardboards, metals and plastics are individually separated and removed from site for recycling.

Transport

Continue to invest in our fleet of vehicles and investigate new tech and fuel alternatives to help in ensure fleet efficiency.

Reduce fuel consumption through route planning, choosing the most fuel efficient routes. Along with continuous vehicle maintenance and the monitoring of our drivers performance.

Upgrade and update logistic planning systems, closely liaise with our customers to ensure efficient routes and reduce empty vehicle miles. 

Record mileage for ourselves and customers to help monitor there carbon footprint.
